RTL Nederland rarely shares viewing figures for its streaming service Videoland, but content director Peter van der Vorst is now making an exception for the popular programme B&B Vol Liefde. “On Videoland alone, around 1.5 million people watch each episode of the popular reality series,” he told the AD newspaper.
Van der Vorst: “Add to that the linear figures and the programme attracts around three million people per episode. It’s huge. If the total were two million, we would already be celebrating. And that’s not even counting viewing on small screens, such as phones and tablets.” This means that on-demand viewing on Videoland equals linear viewership.
The National Media Onderzoek (NMO) currently measures the figures for linear viewing (live and delayed) on television screens. In that segment, B&B Vol Liefde scores an average of 1.5 million viewers per episode. A spokeswoman for the NMO said that counting viewing on all conceivable screens is still in the testing phase. “We hope to be able to implement this definitively in nthe near future.”
Videoland currently has 1,628,000 subscribers and is the csecond most popular SVOD platform in the country – with Netflix still bering number none.
