Global TV interest for York’s Ebor Festival

August 14, 2025 13.34 Europe/London By Julian Clover

A record total of 40 broadcasters is set to air the Sky Bet Ebor Festival from York Racecourse next week (August 20–23).

Recognised as a key event in the international racing calendar, Racecourse Media Group (RMG) and HBA Media (HBA) have secured distribution, enabling coverage in approximately 140 countries.

William Derby, Chief Executive and Clerk of the Course at York Racecourse, stated: “We are pleased that the home of the Longines World’s Best Race continues to attract increasing interest from global broadcasters and audiences. The prestige and tradition of British summer racing is engaging worldwide viewers, which ultimately benefits the sport. We look forward to welcoming our visiting broadcast partners to Yorkshire.”

Broadcast teams from ITV and Racing TV (UK), Fanduel (US), Sky Racing (Australia), Green Channel (Japan), Dubai Racing Channel, and Yas (Abu Dhabi) will provide live reporting direct from the Knavesmire.

Viewers in the Far East will be able to watch through Netkeiba – Japan’s streaming service with 17 million users – as well as HKJC TV, Cable TV, TVB, and Now TV in Hong Kong. Other prominent channels include Fox Sports (US), ESPN / Disney+ in South America and the Caribbean, and Viaplay in Europe. Indian audiences can access coverage through Fancode, the nation’s leading sports streaming platform.

The feature race of the four-day meeting is the Juddmonte International, scheduled for 15:35 BST on Wednesday, August 20. This £1.25 million event will be highlighted by a special 90-minute Crown Jewels Racing production, tailored for networks unable to accommodate the full World Feed in their schedules.
