
RTL Group grew its streaming subscribers by 15.3% year-on-year to 7.2 million in the first half of 2025, with streaming revenue rising by 27% to €235 million. Streaming start-up losses declined by over 50% to €34 million.
RTL is benefitting from growth in paying subscribers, higher subscription prices in Germany, and expanding advertising revenue on RTL+ in Germany and M6+ in France.
Adjusted EBITA decreased by 7.0% to €160 million.
In recent weeks RTL has extended its distribution partnership with Deutsche Telekom until at least 2030. It has also acquired Sky Deutschland from Comcast in a bid to strengthen its streaming business and diversify revenue streams.
Group revenue declined by 3.2% to €2,781 million. primarily due to lower TV advertising and content revenue, offset in part by higher streaming revenue.
Chief Executive Officer Thomas Rabe said the company continues to focus its portfolio on its primary business units and has generated over €2.7 billion from disposals, resulting in substantial cash returns to shareholders.
The company expects to increase operating profits in subsequent years, supported by potential improvements in macroeconomic conditions in Germany, streaming profitability, and anticipated synergies from the Sky Deutschland acquisition, pending regulatory approval.
