Sky Deutschland has renewed its long-standing partnership with Sky Studios, securing continued access to high-end original series for several more years across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The multi-year extension of the existing framework agreement ensures that the German pay-TV Broadcaster will remain the exclusive home of premium Sky Studios productions in the region, bolstering its content portfolio with fresh original drama. According to Sky Deutschland, the renewed collaboration underlines its commitment to delivering top-tier serial storytelling to its customers.
Among the upcoming series highlights are The Iris Affair, a suspense drama starring Niamh Algar (Mary & George, Raised by Wolves) and Tom Hollander (The White Lotus, The Ipcress File), set to premiere in autumn 2025, and the historical mini-series Amadeus, featuring Paul Bettany and Will Sharpe (The White Lotus, Landscapers), which will debut this winter. The latter explores the life and legacy of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Sky will also exclusively show the new season of The Day of the Jackal, the Emmy-nominated thriller starring Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, which has received widespread international acclaim.
“We’re proud to continue our close partnership with Sky Deutschland, ensuring that audiences across Germany, Austria and Switzerland can keep enjoying the bold and ambitious storytelling from Sky Studios,” said Caroline Cooper, Chief Operating Officer of the Sky Entertainment Group.
Elke Walthelm, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Sky Deutschland, added: “Extending our partnership with Sky Studios is a clear commitment to our goal of bringing exclusive, outstanding British and international series to German-speaking markets. Productions like The Day of the Jackal, Gangs of London or The Tattooist of Auschwitz exemplify the exceptional quality of British storytelling – strong characters, gripping plots, and world-class production. These are exactly the kind of premium shows that make Sky stand out in the drama space.”
