Taiwanese wireless broadband provider Gemtek Technology has received CableLabs certification for its GT-DUO31 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem.
The company says shipments to a leading North American cable operator have begun, and Gemtek is preparing to launch its DOCSIS 4.0 modem, which is currently under certification review.
The GT-DUO31 delivers up to 4.5 Gbps download and 1.6 Gbps upload speeds, features dual 2.5G Ethernet ports, and targets high-performance home and business needs. In partnership with MaxLinear, Gemtek is supporting current DOCSIS 3.1 deployments while facilitating a smooth transition to DOCSIS 4.0 technology.
The forthcoming DOCSIS 4.0 modem will support up to 10 Gbps downstream and 4 Gbps upstream, integrating advanced OFDM/OFDMA and RDK-B architecture.
Certification is expected in the second half of 2025, enabling Gemtek to extend its reach in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
