Sky Deutschland adds WOW Live-Sport to Amazon Prime Video

August 1, 2025 09.57 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Sports fans in Germany can now access Sky Deutschland’s premium live sports offering – including Bundesliga – on Amazon Prime Video.

The launch of Sky’s streaming service WOW as an add-on channel on Amazon Prime Video comes just in time for the new football season. The move expands the reach of WOW’s sports coverage, including Bundesliga, Formula 1 and international golf.

Without switching apps or creating a separate account, Amazon users can subscribe to WOW Live-Sport directly within the Prime Video app and pay via their Amazon account. A Prime membership is not required.

The add-on channel includes the full Sky Sport portfolio: all Friday and Saturday Bundesliga matches live and exclusive, every match of the 2. Bundesliga, Formula 1, MotoGP, Premier League, tennis highlights, world-class golf including the 2025 Ryder Cup, and more.

Evelyn Rothblum, Chief Transformation Officer at Sky Deutschland, described the partnership as a key step in expanding WOW’s growing footprint: “Strategic and innovative partnerships are essential to the success of our streaming business. Integrating WOW into Prime Video makes it even easier for customers to access our premium content quickly and conveniently.”

Dr Christoph Schneider, Country Director Prime Video Germany, added: “With WOW Live-Sport as an add-on channel, we’re expanding our premium live sports line-up for Amazon customers. From Bundesliga football to Formula 1 and golf – this underlines our commitment to continually improve and simplify the streaming experience.”

The WOW app is already available on Amazon Fire TV devices, including Fire TV sticks and Fire TV soundbars. The integration as a Prime Video channel offers an even more seamless experience for sports fans.
