Deltatre to relaunch Italian basketball streaming platform

August 1, 2025 13.11 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Deltatre has announced a new partnership with Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP) to launch an upgraded next-generation direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform.

The deployment of the new LNP PASS is the start of a five-year collaboration aimed at creating a premier digital hub for Italian basketball fans.

Since its initial launch in 2015 as Italy’s first dedicated basketball streaming platform, LNP PASS has undergone a comprehensive redesign to offer an enhanced live and on-demand experience across all devices. LNP wants to strengthen the visibility of the service, strengthening its visibility and market presence both domestically and internationally.

“In recent months, we have sought a partner capable of elevating quality – making LNP PASS more accessible and content-rich for basketball enthusiasts. We prioritized finding a collaborator with deep knowledge of the Italian market as well as the global OTT and digital landscape, ensuring ongoing advancement in our streaming capabilities,” said Francesco Maiorana, President of Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro. “We identified Deltatre as the ideal partner to support LNP’s operational and commercial growth—a global leader in the OTT sector with a strong track record delivering digital services to major international sports organizations and managing large-scale audiences and streams.

The initiative introduces advanced video streaming technologies specifically optimised for basketball content distribution, complemented by multi-device accessibility including web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, and Samsung TV applications.

Andrea Marini, CEO at Deltatre, added: “Italian basketball has significant growth potential, driven by passionate fans seeking greater access to premium content. Through our collaboration with LNP, we aim to enhance the digital fan experience while contributing to the broader advancement of Italian basketball.”

“By utilizing our D3 VOLT platform for LNP PASS, we are able to deliver advanced technology and personalized streaming services that raise the sport’s profile, attract wider audiences, and solidify its standing within Italy’s competitive sports ecosystem.”

Powered by Deltatre’s D3 VOLT platform, the refreshed LNP PASS benefits from state-of-the-art OTT solutions and proven scalability. D3 VOLT facilitates flexible configuration options to suit the specific requirements of sports organizations such as LNP while ensuring reliable, high-quality streaming performance on all devices. Additionally, Deltatre will provide strategic consultancy services to LNP, overseeing growth marketing initiatives intended to expand the league’s fanbase and establish a sustainable commercial model that diversifies revenue streams.
