DAZN said it recorded 750,000 views for the first eight matches of the Belgian Pro League.
The streamer is in its first season of coverage of Belgium’s top football league and has described the initial figures as “unprecedented”.
In June, DAZN totalled 2 million views, and in July, 2.5 million. Last season, the first matchday had an average reach of 525,000.
However, Belgian league matches are so far only available to watch in the DAZN app with no agreement to date with operators such as Telenet and Proximus.
Broadcasters VTM and VRT have reached agreement with DAZN to include clips during their news bulletins, while free highlights can be viewed through the DAZN app from 23.45 each match day.
