RMC selects Bitmovin Player to strengthen video streaming

July 24, 2025 13.15 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Bitmovin has announced that RMC BFM Group has chosen its Player technology to enhance and standardise its video playback across all digital channels.

The deployment will take place via AWS Marketplace, supporting RMC BFM’s cloud-first approach and expediting integration.

RMC BFM Group includes news channel BFM TV, RMC Sport, RMC Story and RMC Découverte.

Amid ongoing digital transformation efforts, RMC BFM Group required a robust, adaptable solution capable of delivering consistent performance within a complex landscape of playback technologies. Bitmovin’s Player was selected due to its seamless integration, extensive device compatibility, and ability to support evolving user experience and monetisation objectives.

“Bitmovin quickly distinguished itself as the ideal partner to help us elevate the video experience at RMC BFM Group,” stated Patrice Mayet, Chief Technology Officer at RMC BFM. “We needed a high-performance solution able to operate efficiently across multiple frontend providers, a sophisticated CMS, and advanced advertising systems. Bitmovin’s Player satisfied these requirements while also providing the flexibility and innovation we need for future growth. Their team has demonstrated reliability and a deep understanding of the complexities in modern video delivery.”

The implementation of Bitmovin’s Playback solution is underway, with an official launch planned for January 2026. The decision followed an extensive proof-of-concept process, during which Bitmovin’s responsiveness and expertise—in cross-platform streaming as well as the unique aspects of the French media environment—were critical factors.

“We are honoured to support RMC BFM’s mission to deliver premium news and entertainment content to audiences across France,” commented Stefan Lederer, CEO and Co-Founder of Bitmovin. “Our player addresses the core challenges RMC BFM faces by providing reliable, flexible, and scalable playback across a wide array of platforms and integrations.”

Utilising Bitmovin through AWS Marketplace provides RMC BFM with a scalable, cloud-native solution that streamlines deployment and aligns seamlessly with long-term infrastructure strategies.
