Appear has announced plans for IBC2025 with the launch of VX Media Gateway software and the European debut of its X5 hardware module.
VX Media Gateway supports secure and scalable media processing on-premises or in the cloud. Its inaugural release offers features for Ground to Cloud workflows, including advanced stream protection, seamless failover, and compatibility with industry standards such as SMPTE ST-2022, UDP/RTP, Unicast/Multicast, and SMPTE ST-2022-7.
The solution also benefits from Appear’s optimised SRT software, enabling exceptional scalability.
Andy Rayner, CTO of Appear, said, “Our VX platform, SRT solutions, and ongoing X Platform enhancements enable broadcasters to move high-quality, low-latency media reliably across any network, bridging hardware and software with ease. These solutions offer the flexibility required for modern live production, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments.”
The company will also showcase the X5 module, the newest addition to its X Platform. Engineered for compactness and efficiency, the X5 delivers ultra-low latency, high-quality compression, and superior IP media transport, targeting smaller-scale, high-value live productions.
IBC2025 will also see Appear introduce a 100 Gbps network card for its X Platform, quadrupling interface speeds to support bandwidth-intensive live productions and offering broadcasters a straightforward path to upgrade without altering their operational footprint. Alongside this, Appear will unveil its new Estate Manager (AEM), a sophisticated management tool designed to enhance visibility and control across X Platform deployments.
