tivùsat rolls out new HbbTV-based EPG via satellite and DTT

July 18, 2025 17.11 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Italian TV platform tivùsat has launched Tivù la Guida, a new interactive electronic programme guide (EPG) delivered over the HbbTV standard and available free of charge via satellite and DTT.

Viewers can access the service by tuning to channel 500 on either platform using an internet connected, next generation smart TV (lativù-certified sets are supported).

Once on channel 500, the on screen prompt launches the interactive guide, letting users browse TV schedules quickly and intuitively, according to tivùsat. Navigation is available by time slot (now, next, later) and across the entire broadcast week for participating channels. Listings span generalist, thematic, local, national and specialised services, reflecting the breadth of Italy’s free to air offer.

Each programme listing in Tivù la Guida is accompanied by a detailed information sheet. Depending on the data supplied, viewers may see: plot synopsis, cast, genre, running time, target audience indicators, family/age viewing notes and links to related or supplementary content. The guide is organised in thematic sections to streamline discovery and help different types of viewers find what they want.

While the channel 500 slot is the flagship delivery mode, Tivù la Guida is also accessible online at tivu.tv and via free mobile apps. The app is available for iPhone and iPad in the Apple App Store and for Android smartphones and tablets in the Google Play Store, allowing users to consult schedules away from the main TV screen.
