David Cho named editor-in-chief of CNBC

David Cho has been named Editor-in-Chief of CNBC, responsible for all editorial coverage across the network’s linear, digital and direct-to-consumer platforms. Cho joins CNBC on August 11. 

“David’s appointment as Editor-in-Chief marks an important evolution for CNBC as we unify editorial efforts across every platform,” said KC Sullivan, President of CNBC. “With his deep expertise in business journalism and a strong track record as a strategic leader, David is uniquely positioned to guide our newsroom into the future. Under his leadership, we’ll continue to elevate the trust and clarity that define CNBC’s essential content – meeting our audience wherever they are with the authority and depth they expect.”

As Editor-in-Chief, Cho will have oversight of all CNBC editorial content, enabling cohesion of talent and reporting across platforms.

Cho is an award-winning journalist and business editor. Before joining CNBC, he was Editor-in-Chief of Barron’s and head of editorial content for Dow Jones Wealth and Investing, which includes publications such as MarketWatch, Investor’s Business Daily and Financial News London. Prior to that, he was the business editor of The Washington Post, where his digital-first focus led to aggressive expansion as well as audience growth. 

Before joining The Washington Post in 2001, Cho worked at The Star-Ledger, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Korea Herald.
