As women’s football continues to gain popularity worldwide, German broadcaster Sportdigital will air live coverage of the knockout stages of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Sportdigital will air eight matches live, beginning with the quarter-finals on 18 July and culminating in the final on 26 July.
Twelve national teams have been battling it out in Morocco since 5 July for the prestigious continental title. Sportdigital joins the action from the quarter-finals onwards, showing all four matches across Friday and Saturday via its streaming app Sportdigital+.
The coverage kicks off on Friday at 18:00 CEST with a clash between tournament favourites and record champions Nigeria and Zambia. The semi-finals on Tuesday, 22 July, the third-place playoff on Friday, 25 July, and the final on Saturday, 26 July, will be broadcast on Sportdigital Fußball, the network’s flagship football channel.
Sportdigital has long included top-tier African football in its programming line-up. The upcoming Men’s Africa Cup of Nations, set to be held in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, will also feature prominently on the network. The tournament will include 24 national teams, with Morocco hosting for the second time, following its debut as host in 1988. Ivory Coast will be defending their 2024 title.
