Wedotv strikes New Regency film deal

July 15, 2025 14.04 Europe/London By Julian Clover

wedotv has finalised a licensing agreement with New Regency for a collection of over 80 films.

wedotv, which operates the AVOD platform wedotv.com and FAST channels worldwide, will offer the films on both its direct-to-consumer service and wedotv movies channels in the UK, Italy, DACH, Benelux, and the Nordics.

“As wedotv expands globally, our mission remains clear: to deliver quality movies and shows that people truly want to watch – for free. We tailor our wedotv services by region, and New Regency’s exceptional catalogue fits perfectly with our vision. From global blockbuster hits to cult classics, these are films that resonate with audiences. We deeply value our partnership with such a respected studio and are confident that their titles will appeal to our viewers,” said wedotv co-CEO Chris Sharp.

wedotv and wedotv movies provide viewers with a wide selection of contemporary films across all genres, boasting a library of over 1000 films. New Regency movies will be available to viewers in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

Among the titles in the package are cult classics like Terry Gilliam’s Brazil (Robert DeNiro, Jonathan Pryce, Michael Palin), and global fan favorites such as Dangerous Beauty (Catherine Mccormack, Rufus Sewell, Naomi Watts), Down With Love (Renée Zellweger, Ewan Mcgregor), Made In America (Ted Danson, Whoopi Goldberg), The Mambo Kings (Antonio Banderas, Armand Assante), Sommersby (Richard Gere, Jodie Foster), What’s Your Number? (Anna Faris, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt), amongst others.

wedotv and wedotv movies are accessible on wedotv’s own app and across various platforms, including Virgin Media, Joyn, Freeview, Samsung TV Plus, LG, TCL, Hisense (VIDAA), Netgem, Plex, Whale TV, Sunrise, and Titan OS.
