
Movistar Plus+ has announced (Wednesday) the renewal of its agreement with Sony, allowing subscribers continued access to exclusive content.
The Telefonica-owned service will have exclusivity on the first window, immediately after a title’s passage through cinemas.
Movistar Plus+ will continue to have the AXN and AXN Movies channels, featuring a multitude of series of movies from the Sony Library.
Titles that fall under the new deal include 28 Years Later, the Zombie sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. Other Films include Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Karate Kid: Legends.
In a statement Daniel Domenjó, CEO of Movistar Plus+, said: “This agreement with Sony Pictures Entertainment guarantees our customers access to the studio’s major premieres, and reaffirms Movistar Plus+ as the home of cinema in Spain. We want to continue having the best premiere cinema among the entire audiovisual offer of our country and be the first to offer the international titles of reference. The renewal of this alliance allows us to take very solid steps in that direction.”
