Vodafone adds FAST Channels to GigaTV, opens web access

July 3, 2025 15.23 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Vodafone Deutschland is expanding its GigaTV platform by integrating FAST Channels for the first time.

Seven channels have been added initially, covering genres from action sports and classic films to comedy and environmental documentaries. The new channels are available via the electronic programme guide (EPG) or by direct channel number on all GigaTV Home and GigaTV Home Sound receivers.

The line-up comprises wedo movies, World of Free Sports, Filmgold by Mainstream Media, Stars in Gefahr and Comedy & Shows by Banijay, INFAST and Love the Planet.

The technical backend is provided by Amagi, a cloud-based broadcasting and streaming solutions provider. Viewers can access the channels as internet streams without installing any extra apps.

In another step towards greater flexibility, Vodafone now allows GigaTV users to stream live TV in HD via a web browser. Customers can log in at https://tv.vodafone.de using their existing GigaTV credentials.

“With the launch of our first FAST Channels, we’re catering more directly to the specific interests of our customers,” said Maren Pommnitz, Director of Home Connectivity & Entertainment at Vodafone. “More channels are already in the pipeline as we continue to expand GigaTV into a central platform for TV, streaming, media libraries and video-on-demand.”
