Prime Video to distribute france.tv channels and content

July 3, 2025 11.55 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Amazon Prime Video and France Télévisions has agreed to distribute the france.tv offering on Prime Video in France, starting today (July 3).

From its launch, all Prime members in France will have access to the entire france.tv offering including live broadcasts from channels (France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, and France Info), preview and replay programs, and exclusive content. Included is a library of 20,000 titles, which will have a dedicated rail on the Prime Video homepage in France.

The announcement comes after Netflix announced a tie-up with commercial broadcaster TF1, though subscribers will have to wait until next year, as opposed to the Amazon- France Télévisions agreement which starts immediately.

Delphine Ernotte Cunci, President and CEO of France Télévisions said: “We are very pleased to make france.tv accessible to all Prime Video users starting July 3. With this unprecedented distribution method, our group is taking a historic step to strengthen the visibility of its public service offering, and thus allow all audiences to rediscover and discover the unique richness of france.tv in new environments.”

Christophe Deguine, CEO of Prime Video in France said: “After Max, Paramount+, Ciné+OCS, Universal+, and MGM+, alongside 43 additional channels, we are delighted to have reached this agreement and to be able to make France Télévisions’ extensive catalog available to all our Prime customers in France.” We are constantly looking for new ways to expand the quality content offerings available to our customers and confirm Prime Video as the number 1 destination for entertainment.”

In addition to entertainment, sport, documentary and drama there is also news through France Info.
