Exclusive: Mainstream Media expands FAST Channel reach at GoldStar TV anniversary

July 1, 2025 15.37 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German media company Mainstream Media is adding its FAST Channels to further platforms as its first channel, Goldstar TV, celebrates its 25-year anniversary.

Telenovela ZDF und Kultkrimi launched on smart TV operating system Titan OS on 25 June 2025, a Mainstream Media spokesperson confirmed to Broadband TV News. This makes the FAST Channels available to the owners of smart TV sets from manufacturers including Philips, Sony and, soon, JVC.

Additionally, the GoldStar TV FAST Channel launched on the VIDAA smart TV platform on 16 June. Further platforms will be added in the near future.

The growth of the FAST Channel business comes in a special year for Mainstream Media as GoldStar TV celebrates its 25-year anniversary in 2025. The channel launched on 1 March 2000, marking one of Germany’s first digital thematic channels.

The channel, which currently reaches a total of 13 million devices, targets the fans of German-language music, focusing on classic songs from the 60’s, 70’s and later as well as modern music and stars. Besides music videos, the schedule also includes interviews, concerts and backstage reports.

At the occasion of the anniversary, Goldstar TV will broadcast the special show “Unsere Stars!” (“Our Stars!”) from 1 to 25 September with songs from 25 stars including Howard Carpendale (2.9.), Peter Maffay (7.9.), Helene Fischer (10.9.), Roland Kaiser (12.9.), Beatrice Egli (13.9.), Udo Jürgens (15.9.), Andrea Berg (16.9.), Marianne Rosenberg (21.9.), Andreas Gabalier (24.9.) and Claudia Jung (25.9.).
