EE unveils Stream Mode to improve customer experience

July 1, 2025 12.39 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Mobile and broadband provider EE has added Stream Mode to its WiFi Enhancer service.

Stream Mode prioritises leading streaming apps including Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports on discovery+, to minimise buffering and improve viewing quality throughout the home. It follows earlier Enhancers, Game Mode and Work Mode.

Luciano Oliveira, Director of Product, Home & TV at EE, said: “With Stream Mode, we’re giving customers even more control over their broadband experience. Whether its binge-watching boxsets or watching live sport, Stream Mode puts streaming apps in the fast lane, so customers can enjoy uninterrupted entertainment, even when the whole household is online. It’s all part of our mission to create a smarter, more personalised, WiFi experience, and it’s only available on EE.”

Stream Mode also prioritises live streaming uploads, offering a quicker and smoother experience for sharing content on major platforms like Twitch and YouTube.

EE says its WiFi Enhancer differs from rival services as it optimises performance for multiple devices and activities simultaneously as customers use them – not just one device at a time

Stream Mode is a single, switchable setting within the EE app. It prioritises streaming apps such as Amazon Prime Video and TNT Sports on discovery+, keeping your favourite shows running smoothly, even on a busy home network

Stream Mode is part of EE’s WiFi Enhancer service, providing three intelligent broadband modes from EE that allow customers to customise their connection depending on how they use it.

WiFi Enhancer is included as standard with the Made for Gamers and Busiest Home broadband bundles, or as a £5 per month 30 day rolling add-on.
