The Steering Board of the DVB Project has approved the membership of Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA), the public broadcaster owned by the government of Catalonia.
“In joining DVB, we’re excited to contribute to the collaborative development of open standards that are shaping the future of digital media distribution. Through our involvement in the DVB-I standard, we aim to contribute meaningful insights and support the successful implementation of this next-generation media distribution standard across Europe,” said Natàlia Prats, Chief Technology Officer of CCMA/3Cat.
Known as 3Cat, its channel TV3, has been the most widely viewed by Catalan audiences for the past ten years.
The organisation is coordinating the RTVE-FORTA DVB-I working group, which is planning a DVB-I pilot in Spain.
