AgileTV to develop and implement LIWEST’s TV service in Austria

June 26, 2025 15.55 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

TV and video technology solutions provider AgileTV signed an agreement with Austrian telco LIWEST to develop and implement its TV service in Austria.

LIWEST and AgileTV will provide the TV offering to new customers and will also gradually migrate the Austrian operator’s current TV subscribers. AgileTV’s technical and commercial proposal was selected through a structured tender process, resulting in a five-year agreement.

“The collaboration with AgileTV marks an important step in the ongoing development of our television infrastructure,” said Dr Stefan Gintenreiter, Managing Director of LIWEST. “By integrating Agile TV’s advanced technology, we can accelerate innovation and provide our customers with a state-of-the-art, future-ready TV experience.”

As the technology partner behind the service, AgileTV provides the end-to-end TV-as-a-Service platform which supports a range of features, such as premium TV channels, accessible through an integrated user interface. It also includes aggregation capabilities, an open content system that allows for flexible integration of third-party platforms, and regionalisation support to adapt content offerings to local market needs.

“We are strengthening our presence in the DACH market with the TV service launch alongside our partner LIWEST. It proves the competitiveness and scalability of the AgileTV operating model and allows us to continue to grow and bring high-quality TV experiences to new audiences around the globe,” added Koldo Unanue, CEO of AgileTV.

LIWEST, headquartered in Linz, serves around 145,000 business and residential customers in Upper Austria and parts of western Lower Austria with TV and high-speed internet.
