Ukrainian FAST Channel 1+1 Travel added to Rakuten TV

June 24, 2025 18.04 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Thematic FAST channel 1+1 Travel has secured distribution in 43 European countries thanks to a partnership with Rakuten TV.

The channel offers a slate of exciting travel shows, designed to take viewers to the most remote corners of the planet.

1+1 Travel is based around The World Inside Out, which has been introducing viewers to exotic countries and non-traditional tourist routes for almost 15 years.

The project’s film crew consists of only two people – host and director Dmytro Komarov and cameraman Oleksandr Dmytriyev. The team does not have a pre-written script, purchased tickets, or booked hotels, and the topics for each episode often emerge during filming.

1+1 Travel broadcasts in Spanish with the option to turn on English subtitles.

“Telling the world about Ukraine is vitally important. But it is equally important to introduce viewers to new places and exotic cultures. That is why we have travel shows that showcase corners of the planet far from Europe,” said Tetiana Voloshchenko, Head of New Channel Development and International Broadcasting at 1+1 Media. “The partnership with Rakuten TV is an important step in scaling our content, including the unique programme The World Inside Out. Now this show will be available to millions of viewers.

Rakuten TV is one of Europe’s leading streaming platforms, offering a combination of TVOD (transactional video on demand), AVOD (ad-supported video on demand), and FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) models. The FAST service consists of over 500 channels, including more than 100 owned and operated channels. Rakuten TV already reaches over 150 million households across 43 countries in Europe.
