Norway’s public broadcaster has announced plans to shut its teletext service.
Tekst TV was introduced on February 2, 1983.
NRK says in recent years, the service has become increasingly difficult to maintain, leading to several technical errors.
The risk of more serious errors means that NRK has decided to discontinue the service.
It added that all the information found on Tekst TV is also available on its website.
The BBC closed its Ceefax service in 2012. However, in neighbouring Sweden SVT Text is still going strong, having launched in 1979.
