The Tennis Channel is strengthening its presence in Germany, announcing a series of high-profile distribution deals and securing broadcasting rights to three major German competitions.
The channel is now available on streaming platforms Joyn, waipu.tv, O2 TV and – soon – Zattoo, greatly expanding its reach across the German-speaking region. These partnerships enable viewers to access premium tennis content without additional costs.
The timing of this expansion coincides with Tennis Channel acquiring live broadcasting rights to the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle (ATP 500), the Berlin Ladies Open (WTA 500), and the Bad Homburg Open (WTA 500). These tournaments attract some of the world’s top talent in the lead-up to Wimbledon.
At the Halle event this week, German favourite Alexander Zverev, defending champion Jannik Sinner, and former world number one Daniil Medvedev headline the men’s draw. Meanwhile, the Berlin Ladies Open, held at the Steffi Graf Stadium, boasts eight Grand Slam champions including French Open winner Coco Gauff and world No. 3 Aryna Sabalenka.
From 21 June, attention will turn to the Bad Homburg Open, now in its fifth year, where stars like Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula and Jasmine Paolini are set to compete.
“With these highly attractive rights and our new high-reach distribution partners, we are taking the next significant steps to excite even more tennis fans in Germany about the Tennis Channel,” said Matthias Hahn, General Manager of Tennis Channel DACH.
