Spanish broadcaster EITB is enabling internet connected TVs to access Ultra High Definition broadcasts through HbbTV.
A call to action is displayed through HbbTV, once enacted by the viewer, a side menu is displayed for a few seconds after the channel is accessed, and remains present providing the viewer doesn’t switch to another channel.
In addition to the options already available on the red button (EITB digital platforms) and yellow button (Restart), the possibility of accessing the UHD resolution streaming of the channel’s broadcast (only for ETB1 and ETB2) has been added as a permanent functionality on the blue button of the remote control.
The channel will have a UHD logo to differentiate it from the HD broadcast.
