Bosnia and Herzegovina’s minister of Communications and Transport Edin Forto has held a co-ordination meeting ahead of the country’s digital terrestrial service.
The country is the last in Europe to move to DTT and as is to be expected it is moving straight to DVB-T2.
Initial broadcasts will take place released in Sarajevo, Mostar and Banja Luka, followed by other urban areas such as Tuzla and Zenica. The project will be completed by December following a six-month contract extension.
“After the contract was awarded, due to the US sanctions imposed to one of the companies within the Consortium, we had to carry out certain legal actions, which let to slowing down the works, especially during the winter. The sanctions were overcome by removing that company from the Consortium, after which we continued with the project development”, said Forto.
President of the Management Board of Odašiljači i veze Mate Botica confirmed that the works are proceeding as planned, adding that all the requirements will be met within the new deadlines and the signal available in the chosen locations.
