Ocilion unveils new STB generation with Android TV Operator Tier

June 2, 2025 13.32 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Austrian IPTV service provider Ocilion is developing its sixth-generation set-top box, incorporating Google’s Android TV operating system.

The compact IPTV box P610, along with the matching R601 remote control, will mark the introduction of the P600 product range. With the custom launcher, network operators will continue receiving the IPTV product under their own brand, with a personalised user interface and several pre-installed premium apps. These include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and other popular streaming services and media libraries.

The P610 set-top box is equipped with the latest high-performance Amlogic 905X5M chip, offering substantial memory (4GB RAM, 32GB flash). It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 4K resolution, and HDR, including Dolby Vision. Its design builds upon the aesthetics of the preceding P400 and P500 series, offering a seamless combination of set-top box and remote control. The remote control was developed in collaboration with Austrian manufacturer Ruwido and includes voice control.

Alongside the new set-top box series, Ocilion introduces the next generation of its user interface: UI6 offers an intuitive user experience, featuring content discovery, content promotion options, and voice search, according to Ocilion. The user interface, tailored to the operator’s brand, is available for both the upcoming P600 series devices and the existing P400 and P500 models, protecting the investments network operators have already made.

With the P600 series, network operators can take advantage of Ocilion’s branding service. The set-top box, remote control, and packaging can all be customised to match the operator’s brand design in line with the user interface.

“All our know-how and experience, accumulated over more than 20 years, have gone into the development of our sixth-generation set-top box and our new user interface, UI6. With these, we deliver a first-class user experience for end customers with all the relevant content, and for our clients – the network operators – an exceptionally attractive, comprehensive entertainment platform with the highest level of investment security,” said Hans Kühberger, Managing Director of Ocilion.

“Even with these latest product generations, we remain true to our turnkey approach: network operators receive a fully integrated package from us, including end devices, apps, software, online tools, content licensing, operations, and maintenance. We ensure smooth operations and ongoing development. Through our white-label approach, we place the network operator and their brand at the centre, with the customer relationship remaining exclusively with the network operator,” added Kühberger.
