CANAL+ Germany launches SportsHD package

May 20, 2025 09.23 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

CANAL+ Germany is expanding its B2B offering for network operators with the launch of a new sports package called SportsHD.

The new bundle includes six thematic sports channels that are now available to customers via cable and IPTV. The package is designed to appeal to a wide range of sports fans, featuring content from football and motorsports to eSports and tennis.

The six channels included in the SportsHD package are Sportdigital1+, eSportsONE, Sportdigital Fußball, auto motor und sport channel, Fast & Fun Box, and the Tennis Channel.

A particular highlight is the Tennis Channel, which joins the CANAL+ Germany lineup for the first time and is offered exclusively by the company for distribution on cable networks. Tennis fans will gain access to comprehensive coverage of top-tier international tournaments including ATP and WTA events, along with documentaries, magazines, and background reports.

Cable customers will also benefit from a second smartcard included in the package, enabling simultaneous use on an additional device within the household.

“With SportsHD, we’re providing our network partners with a strong and diverse sports offering that caters to various interests,” said Marco Hellberg, Managing Director of CANAL+ Germany. “We’re particularly proud to offer the Tennis Channel exclusively via cable, which significantly enhances the value of the package. At the same time, we are meeting the high demand for premium sports content, which is a key factor for many viewers when choosing their TV provider.”

The SportsHD package is now available to all existing and new network partners of CANAL+ Germany.
