Hearst Networks EMEA launches Slovenian feed

May 13, 2025 11.24 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Hearst Networks EMEA is expanding its footprint in Central and Eastern Europe with the launch of a dedicated local feed for the History Channel in Slovenia.

The channel will feature a curated mix of History Channel originals and popular international content, along with localised ad breaks tailored specifically for Slovenian advertisers.

The move follows the recent launch of ad sales operations in Bulgaria.

In Slovenia, History Channel will be broadcast with Slovenian subtitles and include leading series such as History’s Greatest Mysteries, The UnXplained with William Shatner, Unbelievable with Dan Aykroyd, and Pawn Stars.

Izabella Wiley, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Central & Eastern Europe at Hearst Networks EMEA, said: “We are thrilled to be launching ad sales on the History Channel in Slovenia – a dynamic and fast-growing media market with strong potential. Slovenian audiences have shown a clear appetite for high-quality factual content, and we’re excited to offer advertisers new opportunities to connect with them through our trusted brand. With Slovenia joining our ad sales operations in Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria, this is another meaningful step in strengthening our commercial presence across Central and Eastern Europe’’.

Local advertising sales will be managed by Casmedia, who will oversee commercial sales and advertising solutions on behalf of Hearst Networks EMEA.

“We are excited to join forces with Hearst Networks for this important launch,” said Primož Hribar, CEO at Casmedia. “Slovenian viewers have a clear appetite for high-quality factual programming, and the arrival of The HISTORY Channel brings advertisers a strong new platform to reach an engaged and curious local audience”.

Slovenia is part of the broader CEE region, comprising 17 countries, and is managed through Hearst Networks EMEA’s regional headquarters in Warsaw.
