Paramount+ added another 1.5 million subscribers during the quarter ahead of an anticipated drop in Q2.
The streaming service now has 79 million subscribers globally, but the end of an international bunding agreement is expected to reduce numbers.
In this quarter there were improvements in churn, ARPU and scaling revenue.
Revenues for the direct-to-consumer business increased by 9% year-on-year, advertising was down by the same amount, largely due to a broadcast of the Superbowl skewing revenues.
Company-wide revenue fell by 6% to $7.19 billion.
However, Paramount Global closed the quarter $550 million in profit, compared with a loss of $417 million in the year-earlier period.
It continues to work towards its acquisition by Skydance Media.
