Sportdigital secures UEFA youth championships

May 8, 2025 11.12 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German sports broadcaster Sportdigital has expanded its football rights portfolio by acquiring a comprehensive UEFA package that includes all U-17 and U-19 European Championships for men’s and women’s national teams through 2028.

The deal covers the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and also includes four major futsal tournaments.

The Hamburg-based pay-TV channel will air 60 live matches from four youth tournaments in 2025 alone. Coverage begins immediately with the UEFA Women’s U-17 European Championship in the Faroe Islands, in which teams like France, Italy, Spain, and Austria are taking part.

Next up is the UEFA Men’s U-17 Euros in Albania from 19 May to 1 June. Germany’s national team, led by coach Michael Prus, will face hosts Albania, France, and Portugal in Group A, kicking off their participation on 19 May against France.

In June, the U-19 European Championships will take centre stage. The women’s tournament in Poland features top teams such as England, the Netherlands, Portugal, and reigning champions Spain. Meanwhile, in Romania, Germany’s U-19 men will compete against England, the Netherlands, and Norway starting on 13 June.

In addition to youth football, Sportdigital has also secured the rights to four UEFA futsal championships, including the men’s and women’s senior tournaments, as well as the U-19 competitions in 2025 and 2027. The 2025 U-19 Futsal Euros will take place in Moldova this September, with Portugal defending their title. The men’s Futsal Euro will follow in early 2026, hosted by Latvia and Lithuania, while the women’s tournament is scheduled for 2027.

“We are thrilled to have secured such an attractive and wide-ranging rights package from UEFA. It guarantees us access to top-tier tournaments until 2028, where the focus will be firmly on the stars of tomorrow in both women’s and men’s football,” said Sportdigital Managing Director Bendix Eisermann.
