Spiegel TV expands FAST offering on Samsung TV Plus

April 29, 2025 11.15 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German broadcaster Spiegel TV is launching another FAST Channel on Samsung TV Plus.

The new channel, Spiegel TV action+crime, targets ‘true crime’ fans with award-winning documentaries, for example on biker gangs and criminal clans, as well as in-depth insights into the world of organised crime and the structures of criminal families.

The new service is the third FAST Channel which Spiegel TV is offering on Samsung TV Plus: Spiegel TV, launched in 2019, features news programmes, documentaries and reports, while Spiegel TV Konflikte primarily shows documentaries on historical conflicts.

“Expanding our digital business is a key pillar of our future strategy. In addition to our successful YouTube channel with 2.1 million subscribers, our FAST services are exciting distribution channels through which we engage in direct-to-consumer business,” said Spiegel TV Managing Director Kay Siering.

Funke Digital and Spiegel TV have been cooperating since 2019 in the growing connected TV market. As a full-service provider, Funke Digital brings Spiegel TV’s content to a wide range of platforms including Samsung TV Plus, Rakuten TV and LG Channels.

Verena Märtens, Head of Content Partnerships at Funke Digital, said: “Expanding our partnership with Spiegel TV allows us to make high-quality true crime formats accessible to a broader audience, and we are delighted to strengthen our Funke Channels portfolio in the highly popular crime genre.”
