
Canal+ says it will continue to focus on profitable growth as the French paycaster reported revenues of €1,547 million, an increase of 1.5%.
Content Production was the area of greatest area of growth as box office hits Paddington in Peru, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and We Live in Time added up to an 8.2% increase.
“2024 was a pivotal year for CANAL+ as we achieved several key strategic milestones. In the first quarter of 2025, we continued to build on this momentum, moving towards our goal of becoming a global media and entertainment leader, supported by strong financial discipline,” said Maxime Saada, Chief Executive Officer of Canal+, in a statement.
Saada added that he expects the delayed merger with MultiChoice to go-ahead on 8 October, in line with recent statements. The combination will significantly strengthen Canal’s presence in Africa, adding English and Portugese-speaking areas, to its established French market.
Notably, revenue in Poland continued to rise, driven bu an increase in ARPU. In other European countries Canal enjoyed stable revenues, sustained by growth in OTT revenues and a stronger aadvertising performance.
