Children’s channel Pop Max is to leave the Sky platform after departing Freeview last December.
Launched in 2008, POP TV has since 2021 been owned by Narrative Entertainment, and has previously been part of Sony Pictures Television and CSC Media Group.
Paul Dunthorne, Managing Director at Narrative Entertainment, said: “We deliver high quality kids programming to families across the UK, and we always make it free. Our POP network is a powerful way for advertisers and sponsors to reach households with kids, and we’re ensuring the maximum impact for partners by closing the POP Max channel on Sky and moving the content to our POP channel and POP Player.
“Our POP network is still the UK’s only dedicated free-to-air commercial kids broadcaster, and the number one kids network for co-viewing, with 48% share.”
Children’s TV is like everything else moving into the on demand world, as illustrated by Pop Max content continuing to be available through Narrative’s POP Player.
POP HD and Tiny Pop HD remain in the Kids section of the Sky EPG.
