KPN Introduces TV+ Soundbox with TV receiver and speaker in one

April 22, 2025 13.27 Europe/London By Julian Clover

KPN is introducing a ‘next level’ sound experience with audio design by Bang & Olufsen and Dolby Atmos sound.

The KPN TV+ Soundbox is a compact TV receiver and (smart) speaker with powerful sound in a single unit, rather than separate devices.

“We saw a clear need in customer research: a simple way to enjoy good sound with their entertainment, without the complexity of many products and features,” explains Robin Clements, CMO of KPN’s consumer market. “The TV+ Soundbox addresses this directly. It offers an easy way to enjoy quality sound without needing lots of extra gear. It’s designed to fit in any interior and can be set up in a snap by placing it near your TV. That way, you can instantly enjoy impressive picture and sound from one central device.”

Cornelis Kalma, Director of TV & Entertainment at KPN, says the TV+ Soundbox offers a seamless integration of sound and ease of use. “KPN delivers television in the best picture quality. Streaming services are increasingly offering high-quality content, and we’re watching more on 4K TV screens. But very few people actually enjoy high-quality audio as well. The TV+ Soundbox offers the perfect solution for that. By adding premium sound, you get a whole new and even better experience while watching your favorite series, movie, or sports event.”

The KPN TV+ Soundbox also include Razor-sharp pictures thanks to Dolby Vision, 4K Ultra HD, and HDR support. Smart speaker functionality is provided by Google Assistant and there is a seamless integration between the Google Play Store and the new KPN TV+ platform.

White Paper: Why Wi-Fi 7 is critical for ISPs in the gigabit+ era

Today, consumers are increasingly using bandwidth-intensive and latency-sensitive workloads, such as 4K and 8K streaming, online gaming, and AR/VR applications.
