German media company Mainstream Media will launch Kultkrimi, a FAST Channel for crime fans, on 23 April 2025.
The initial distribution partner will be streaming platform Samsung TV Plus where Kultkrimi will be available to viewers in Germany and Austria.
The schedule will feature classic German detective series such as Derrick, Der Kommissar, Der Alte and Ein Fall für Zwei.
Kultkrimi will launch on further streaming platforms shortly, a Mainstream Media spokesperson told Broadband TV News, adding that the next one will be Vidaa.
The launch of the new channel follows a comprehensive content agreement Mainstream Media recently signed with ZDF Studios, the commercial subsidiary of German public broadcaster ZDF, for classic programmes. Another new FAST Channel, Telenovela ZDF, is also planned as part of the collaboration.
