Whale TV appoints former Netflix executive Michael Wang to Board of Directors

April 10, 2025 12.24 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Whale TV has announced the appointment of Michael Wang to its Board of Directors. Wang, a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in media and technology, will also serve as Chair of the company’s newly formed Strategic Partnership Committee.

Wang joins Whale TV following a 12-year tenure at Netflix, where he led global OEM partnerships and played a pivotal role in scaling the company’s footprint across device platforms. In his new role, Wang will focus on forging high-impact alliances to accelerate Whale TV’s international growth.

“Michael brings invaluable industry experience and a proven track record in building and scaling global partnerships,” said Jason He, CEO of Whale TV. “His expertise and relationships across the TV ecosystem will be instrumental as we continue expanding our platform and deepening our collaboration with TV brands and other partners worldwide.”

“I have witnessed Whale TV’s growth over the past five years, and I am deeply impressed by the company’s trajectory,” said Wang. “Whale TV is uniquely positioned as an independent TV OS that shares platform revenue with its partners through Whale Profit Sharing. I look forward to supporting the team in building and expanding strategic alliances and guiding our business development teams to drive long-term success.”

Prior to joining Whale TV, Wang held executive roles at Netflix, Magellan Discovery Corp, and CTC Union Corp. He holds an MBA from National Chengchi University and a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Ming Chuan University in Taipei.
