Prime Video launches Apple TV+ as an add-on subscription in Japan and the Netherlands

Apple TV+ is now available via Prime Video in Japan and the Netherlands as an add-on subscription.

As a launch offer until April 24, new customers and eligible returning customers can enjoy Apple TV+’s globally popular original series and movies on their favourite devices for 200 yen per month for three months.

Prime members who subscribe to Apple TV+ via Prime Video will have access to premium entertainment including award-winning hit series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Severance, Pachinko, Slow Horses, Prehistoric Planet, Ted Lasso, Hijack, The Snoopy Show, The Morning Show, Invasion, and The Studio, as well as global hit films such as Wolfs, The Gorge, Napoleon and more, plus Friday Night Baseball (MLB) and Fight for Glory: 2024 World Series sporting contents.

Apple TV+ is now also available in the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, India, Chile, Colombia and New Zealand via Prime Video as an add-on subscription, after launching in the US in October last year.

Prime members in Japan can now access Apple Originals through a simple add-on subscription, benefiting from streamlined content discovery, unified watchlists, and centralized billing,” says Keisuke Oishi, Country Manager of Prime Video Japan. “Over the years, we’ve built Prime Video in Japan as a first-stop entertainment destination offering a wide selection of premium programming including local and international Originals, anime, movies and an incredible calendar of live sports. With 72 add-on subscriptions available through our service, we’re delivering on our promise of being the preferred destination for premium entertainment in Japan.”

“Viewers in the US. have been loving the ability to subscribe to Apple TV+ on Prime Video and we’re pleased to now launch this offering in Japan and India,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of Services. “We want to make Apple TV+ and its award-winning library of series and films from the world’s greatest storytellers available to audiences around the world.”

Apple TV+ joins Prime Video Japan’s extensive collection of add-on subscription options such as DAZN, d Anime Store for Prime Video, NHK on demand, Korean Drama & Entertainment channel K, and J SPORTS, among others.
