Warner Bros Discovery has quietly introduced a new version of the logo for its streaming service Max.
The new black replaces the previously used a bright blue and made its first appearance on Sunday, coinciding with the debut of Max in the Australian market.
“The launch of Max in Australia continues our exciting global expansion,” said JB Perrette, CEO and President of Global Streaming & Games at Warner Bros. Discovery. “While the Max brand may be new to Australians, the programming engines at the heart of it – including HBO, Discovery, Warner Bros., Harry Potter, the DC universe – are already loved by audiences here. Now for the first time, these brands come together alongside additional premium content from WBD’s portfolio, to offer a distinct streaming proposition for local fans.”
And the logo may be familiar to with a further nod to Warner’s heritage brand HBO in terms of both colour and typography.
Max was created in 2023 from the combination of HBO Max and Discovery+.
Last month, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, suggested Warner Bros Discovery should have chosen the HBO name for its combined steaming service, rather than Max.
