Liberty Global Ltd has reportedly approached Vodafone Group with a view to buying the telco’s stake in their Dutch joint venture VodafoneZiggo.
Bloomberg, which first reported the story, said on-off talks had taken place over the past few months with Vodafone’s stake being valued at over £2 billion.
Its seven years since Liberty Global’s Ziggo fused with the Vodafone business in the Netherlands.
Speaking at Goldman Sachs’ European Communicopia Conference last September Liberty Global Chief Executive Mike Fries described disussions about the future of the JV as “inevitable”.
When approached by Broadband TV News, a spokesperson for Liberty Global declined to comment.
