Prima+ says it remains the best value streaming service available in the Czech Republic.
The platform has issued a robust defence against the launch of Oneplay, created out of the merger of Voyo and O2 TV.
It says it has expanded its coverage of smart TVs, is available at a competitive price, and is available to view on multiple devices simultaneously.
The highest tier for Prima+ costs CZK 149 per month – still lower than the entry level CZK 199 for Oneplay.
The prima+ app is available on LG, Samsung, Hisense, Philips and all Android TV TVs.
“We are constantly innovating and improving the application as such. The current facelift of TV apps will include shortening the path to play the selected show. We remove the intermediate step and lead the user directly to the start of the selected show. The detail pages of the show will then be modified to make the information on the page clearer, lighten the design and modernize the look of the service,” says Hung Nguyen, Commercial Director for Online Development.
Oneplay launched on Monday, however has faced criticism from users of owners of some older TVs, who have found themselves unable to use the service. There was also a two-hour outage on Monday and issues with buffering on some streams.
Oneplay has assured viewers it is aware of the problems and is working on their resolution.
