OneGate Media secures film and licensing deal with SRF

March 11, 2025 12.19 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Swiss public broadcaster SRF will entrust its film and licensing operations to OneGate Media, the distribution subsidiary of Germany’s ARD network.

The agreement, which comes into effect in early 2026, follows a competitive tender process launched by SRF in 2024.

Under the new partnership, OneGate Media will be responsible for acquiring both fictional and non-fictional content, handling the global distribution of SRF productions, and managing the sale of archive material. The move is expected to enhance SRF’s content reach and strengthen its position in the international market.

“We aim to realign our film and licensing business to meet future demands. OneGate Media convinced us with its comprehensive approach,” said Stefano Semeria, Head of Distribution at SRF. “Its operational and organisational model is forward-thinking, agile, and digitised. We are confident that SRF is best prepared for the future with OneGate Media and that new market potential can be unlocked through this partnership.”

Tania Reichert-Facilides, Managing Director of OneGate Media, added: “We are delighted to have won this mandate from SRF. It is a fantastic acknowledgment of our company’s development and expertise in serving clients and curating content. This partnership strengthens our local presence and enables us to bring Switzerland’s stories to audiences worldwide across all platforms.”

OneGate Media, part of the Studio Hamburg Group, is a major distributor and licence trader for film and television productions. With six distribution divisions under one roof, including International Sales and Digital Distribution, the company offers a full-service approach to content licensing worldwide.
