Telefónica’s subscription platform Movistar+ has named Daniel Domenjó as its new CEO.
Domenjó is the CEO and co-founder of production company Satisfaction Iberia. He holds a degree in journalism from the Pompeu Fabra University and a Master’s Degree in Techniques from the University of Barcelona. A 25-year veteran of the media industry, Domenjó has worked for TVE, Atresmedia, Mediaset, Movistar+, RTP (Portugal), Discovery, TV3, Canal Sur or EITB, among others.
The appointment is one of a number of executive changes brought about by January’s replacement of José María Alvárez-Pallete by former Indra Sistemas Marc Murtra as the telco’s chairman-CEO.
Cristina Burzako, until now CEO of Movistar+, will continue as a member of the Board of Telefónica Audiovisual Digital and will assume new responsibilities within the Group.
Meanwhile, Telefónica Director Javier de Paz assumes the presidency of Telefónica Audiovisual Digital (Movistar Plus+) replacing Sergio Oslé.
