German media company ProSiebenSat.1 has reported a 2% increase in revenue for 2024, reaching €3.92 billion despite a difficult economic climate.
Adjusted EBITDA declined slightly to €557 million, reflecting cautious advertising spending in the TV segment. However, the company’s digital entertainment strategy, particularly through its streaming platform Joyn, showed strong growth, with a 44% rise in monthly video users and a 36% increase in viewing time.
The Commerce & Ventures division achieved a significant milestone, surpassing €1 billion in revenue for the first time, with adjusted EBITDA nearly doubling to €106 million. The company anticipates further revenue growth in 2025, targeting approximately €4 billion, with advertising revenues in the DACH region expected to increase by 2%.
CEO Bert Habets emphasised ProSiebenSat.1’s focus on strengthening its entertainment business, particularly Joyn, aiming for double-digit growth in its market reach. CFO Martin Mildner highlighted cost management as a key factor in maintaining financial stability while continuing strategic investments.
ProSiebenSat.1 also continues exploring potential divestments of non-strategic assets, including Flaconi and Verivox, as part of its strategic portfolio realignment.
