NBC News executives are working on a new subscription TV services that would target consumers who prefer to get their news via mobile devices.
The plans were revealed by NBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Condé during a conference organised by news website Semafor in Washington.
Under the plans there would be around two dozen live streams in English and Spanish, including on demand content from flagship shows Meet the Press, Today, Nightly News and Dateline.
NBC News digital offer already includes FAST channels NBC News Now and Today All Day, a staggercast version of the popular breakfast show.
News channels are considering their future in a world of declining TV audiences. Last month, David Rhodes, Executive Chairman, Sky News Group, like NBC News a part of Comcast, said the broadcaster would reshape its digital-focused service over the next five years to attract new audiences willing to pay for news.
Separately, CNN CEO Mark Thompson has announced plans for a new streaming service that would be available globally.
