Antenna Group enhances OTT platform ANT1+ with Ateme

February 19, 2025 12.09 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Antenna Group has teamed up with video technology provider Ateme to enhance the streaming capabilities of its Greek OTT platform ANT1+.

Hosted on Google Cloud, the partnership aims to provide high-quality streaming experiences, particularly for live sports content.

By integrating Ateme’s advanced transcoding and packaging solution, ANT1+ is set to offer viewers superior video quality with low latency and optimised bitrates. This ensures a smoother and more immersive experience for sports fans, keeping them engaged for extended periods, according to Ateme.

Antenna Group’s decision to leverage Ateme’s technology comes as the demand for seamless and high-quality streaming continues to grow. The collaboration brings several advantages to the platform, including enhanced video quality that ensures a near real-time streaming experience. With Google Cloud’s scalability, ANT1+ can efficiently handle peak streaming demands during major live events.

“Ateme delivers best-in-class streaming solutions that perfectly align with new video consumption models, which are all about enhancing fan engagement and delivering seamless, high-quality experiences. Their technology allows us to provide our viewers with the very best, while their team is responsive and easy to work with – making them the ideal partner for us as we continue to evolve our platform,” said Costas Colombus, Chief Technical Officer at Antenna Group.

Ateme, a provider of video compression and delivery solutions, brings extensive expertise in sustainable TV services, ad insertion and personalisation. The company’s solutions have been widely adopted by major content providers and streaming platforms worldwide.

“We’re excited to empower Antenna Group with a solution that enhances their OTT platform and helps them offer an unparalleled streaming experience for live events,” said Christophe Stigas, Vice President Southern Europe & MEA at Ateme. “By leveraging Google Cloud, we provide a future-proof, flexible solution that meets the needs of broadcasters today and into the future.”
