YouTube will be able to bundle Paramount+ as part of its YouTube offer as Google reached agreement over the carriage of ParamountGlobal channels.
The agreement followed several days of negotiations brought about by the imminent expiry of the previous agreement for channels including CBS, CBS Sports and Nickelodeon.
Details were released in a statement posted on the YouTube website.
“We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal to continue carrying Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon and more. With this agreement, YouTube TV will continue to offer 100+ channels and add-ons including Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and will enable more user choice in the future. To our subscribers, we appreciate your patience while we negotiated on your behalf.”
On Thursday a short-term extension was put in place, signalling a new deal might be close.
It came after a week when Paramount began warning customers of a potential interruption in service.
