DAZN will no longer be available as part of Amazon’s Prime Video Channels in Italy following a dispute over audience measurement.
According to Il Sole 24 Ore, DAZN, which is the rights holder to Serie A football, should be measured by audience researcher Auditel.
Ratings are one of the factors used in calculating distribution revenues from TV rights, something mandated by the media regulator Agcom.
According to Il Sole 24 Ore, Prime Video did not want to accept the Auditel methodology, and in particular the use of the Sdk software necessary for the detection.
It’s reported that Audicom and Auditel are talking to Amazon to find an alternative to the software.
