Michael Fränkle, CTO and member of the management board, will leave German cable operator Tele Columbus on 31 January 2025 to pursue new professional challenges.
The decision was made at Fränkle’s own request and by mutual agreement, the supervisory board stressed when announcing the change.
Fränkle has been a member of the management board for two years. Under his leadership, the company’s growth was advanced through key projects such as “OneNET” or the establishment of a comprehensive plan-build-run-service organisation, according to a statement by Tele Columbus.
With Fränkle’s departure, the executive board will be reduced from five to four members. The CTO’s previous areas of responsibility will be restructured: Alexander Sragner, as CIO, will in future report directly to CEO Markus Oswald. The role of CTO – with the exception of IT – will be taken over by Mario Zöller, who will also report to Oswald.
Zöller is currently Managing Director and CTO of HLkomm Telekommunikations GmbH, a subsidiary of Tele Columbus, and has more than 20 years of experience in management positions at companies in the telecommunications and manufacturing sectors, including Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Glasfaser and Vattenfall Eurofiber.
This realignment will ensure a seamless transition and continuity of management, according to the company.
