FilmMania now available on DIGI Romania

January 21, 2025 13.38 Europe/London By Julian Clover

AMC Networks International Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI CNE) has announced the launch of FilmMania on DIGI Romania.

AMCNI’s decision to launch FilmMania on the Romanian market was based on in-depth audience research carried out in collaboration with Inspira Research. The results revealed a strong appetite among Romanian movie-goers for more linear movie television.

FilmMania is promising a carefully selected collection of movies, with familiar stories and international stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Milla Jovovich, Luis de Funès, Antonio Banderas and Jean Reno.

“FilmMania complements very well our vision to deliver a cinematic experience of a special kind through movies that delight and excite, carefully chosen to suit the diverse preferences of audiences of all ages. Together with our partners, we are confident that DIGI subscribers will enjoy quality entertainment and movies that have made history in the world of world cinema,” said Serghei Bulgac, CEO of Digi Romania.

“Our common journey with DIGI Romania dates back more than two decades,” adds Levente B. Málnay, Managing Director & Executive Vice President of AMCNI CNE. “We are very pleased to continue our fruitful partnership, sealed with a long-lasting, multi-year agreement and with a strong business partner, an agile market player in the ever-changing telco market. Not only is our portfolio in good hands with DIGI’s distribution, but by adding FilmMania we have also been able to expand our TV line-up in favor of our Romanian viewers, who can now watch all AMCNI CNE channels with the realization of this agreement.”

DIGI Romania’s TV offer already includes AMC, FilmCafe, JimJam, Minimax, TV Paprika and CBS Reality.
